Casey was born & raised in the south, which is obvious by his accent & southern boy charm. He grew up in Clarksville, TN. He has 2 bachelor degrees; the first in Business Management from Bethel College in McKenzie, TN (2004) & the 2nd in nursing from Austin Peay State University (2007). He received his Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Tennessee Memphis in 2008.During the first 7 years of his 14 year career he worked in the outpatient settings in both Endocrinology & Family Practice. For the last 7 years he has worked in the inpatient realm as a Hospitalist nurse practitioner. He is a licensed RN & Advanced Practice Nurse by the state of TN. He is board certified in Family Practice by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. He has also been a Board Certified Diabetes Educator since 2015 & has a particular interest in Type 1 diabetes, Diabetic Autonomic Dysfunction, & Thyroid Disorders. He has participated in multiple diabetes & thyroid related clinical trials & has worked exclusively with the Medtronic Insulin Pump division as a clinical consultant & guest speaker

He is an avid golfer & plays as much as possible in his spare time, however he is also a husband & father of 2 wild boys which limits his time on the golf course. His wife Katie is a pediatric nurse & formerly worked at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital. In 2018 she left Vanderbilt to be a stay home mom after the birth of their first son Shepherd (Shep) who is now 4, & thereafter his other son Hampton who is 2.
