David L Lanier, MD, is board-certified and has a Residency in Emergency Medicine. His undergraduate and medical school were in Chapel Hill, North Carolina at UNC. His residency training was in Baltimore at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Lanier volunteered in a refugee camp with Doctors Without Borders in Thailand with Burmese refugees for 14 months and later in Pakistan as a disaster response to the 2005 Kashmiri earthquake. Having seen all sides of the opiate crisis in his emergency medical career, he advocates for the convenient and private availability of medical-assisted therapy for opiate addiction.
